COVID 19 UPDATE – for our patients

Complete Health at Crossways primary concern is to ensure the well-being, health and safety of our patients, staff and the general community.   We will respectfully ask the following of all our patients:

COVID 19 Symptoms

When booking and arriving for appointments, we will ask you the following questions:

  1. Do you have any COVID 19 symptoms?

You will be referred to get COVID 19 testing as soon as possible where an effective treatment will be recommended by the NSW Health Unit.

  1. Have you been exposed to anyone with COVID 19 in the last 5 days?
  2. Have you had a COVID 19 test recently and are awaiting the outcome?

If you are a close contact or awaiting a COVID 19 test result, we are more than happy to arrange a telehealth appointment with your treating GP, particularly if you have any existing medical conditions.  If you require a physical examination, your treating GP will discuss over the phone with you the suitable arrangements for this to happen.

COVID 19 Safe check-ins

As our General Practice is a premise for high-risk COVID 19 contacts, we will continue to use the QR code check-in for all staff and patients’ surveillance and safety.

Proof of vaccination

This is no longer required.

Personal Protective Equipment

As a potential high risk contact premise, all clinical staff will be required with the continued use of Personal Protective Equipment, which could include the wearing of eye protection and physical distancing in General Practice settings

Mask wearing

All front Reception and general admin staff are required to wear the FFP2 masks when working in the Practice.  Mask wearing will be encouraged by all patients when entering the Practice for the safety of all.  If  you have an exemption or do not feel comfortable wearing a mask, you will be asked to wait in the outside area of the Practice.  Your GP will meet with you to discuss your concerns and where necessary, bring you into the Practice for the relevant treatment.

Waiting Room

We will continue to minimise people in our waiting room, remember the less people waiting the lower the risk of spread and inadvertent contact.   We are asking that only patients and their carers to attend for the appointment (no partners or other people not seeing a GP), social distancing is recommended at all times.

COVID 19 Patient Treatment

Remotely (Telehealth)

Complete Health at Crossways, will be offering Telehealth appointments to existing patients who are diagnosed with COVID 19.

If you are an existing patient and you advise us that you have received a COVID 19 positive result, particularly with any chronic health conditions, our reception staff will liaise with your treating GP to arrange a telehealth appointment as soon as possible.  The GP will then complete a “Managing COVID 19 Treatment Plan” with you during this appointment, and provide you with a copy of this plan.  The GP will also schedule the appropriate follow up appointments for your effective care during this time.

To make a telehealth appointment, you can book online or call us on 02 4384 7200. If you need to make an appointment on behalf of someone else, get information about their condition before calling. This will ensure you can provide important details to us and other Providers.

The Medicare rebates for telehealth services are the same as those provided face-to-face in consulting rooms. During your telehealth consultation your doctor might need to give you a prescription. Talk to our Reception staff on how you can get your medicines, including delivery to your home.

Physical Examination

If you are an existing patient with COVID 19 and require a physical examination, your GP will arrange to conduct a separate session where you are isolated and seen separately to other patients (this could include at the end of the day, separate rooms or even car park clinics).

COVID 19 safety in the Practice

We have followed all the mandated guidelines and placed numerous safety measures in place to ensure your visit at Complete Health at Crossways is as safe and stress-free as possible.

When attending for treatment, you will need to:

  • Wear a mask
  • Physical distance from other patients
  • Be seated when in Reception area
  • Sanitise your hands upon arrival
  • Attend appointments alone unless necessary to have a support person

When receiving face-to-face care, your health care provider:

  • Will follow all hand hygiene and cough etiquette protocols
  • Will stay 1.5 meters from you, unless you need direct care
  • May or may not wear protective gear, depending on the situation — if they do, it does not mean they are unwell

Cosmetics

Complete Health at Crossways, will provide medical Cosmetic procedures during this period, on a case-to-case basis in a clean and hygienic environment. Please call us on 02 4384 7200 to confirm your appointment. Patients may be required to wear masks during these procedures.

Your health and safety are very important to us.  We are here for you in this time of need. If you need to talk to us, even if it is just to hear a friendly voice, or you are feeling isolated, please don’t hesitate to give us a call.

We look forward to seeing you again very soon.

Stay safe
